The Face of Christ

Perhaps the most famous of Agemian's works is the Face of Christ. The image on the right was painted by Ariel Agemian while he was living in France in 1935. He used the image on the Holy Shroud (the Turin Shroud) as his 'model' using forensic imagery from the original Shroud of Turin.
The painting on the left is considered the negative image was also painted by Agemian in 1956, using the imprint on the Shroud of Turin.
